SOUTH WALTON REPUBLICAN CLUB
BY-LAWS
ARTICLE I - Name
The name of this club will be:
The South Walton
Republican Club
ARTICLE II - Object
The object of this organization will
be: To foster and encourage the
Republican Party and to promote it’s
principles and ideals.
To promote the objectives and
policies of the Republican National,
State, and County SOUTH Committees.
To work for the election of the
Republican Party’s nominees.
ARTICLE III - Membership
Sec. 1 Any person of legal
voting age who believes in the
principles of the Republican Party and
supports its candidates is eligible for
membership.
Sec. 2 Only members in good standing
will be eligible to vote in any
election of the Club or on
Club business.
Sec. 3 All members will be
considered “in good standing” unless
formally resigned or dropped from the
rolls,
ARTICLE IV - Officers and Their Duties
Sec. 1 The Club will be managed by a minimum
of eight Directors who are members of the
club in good standing and elected by the
membership present at the January meeting in
odd number years. The Board will elect the
Officers of the Club.
The
Officers of this Club will be: Chairman,
Vice-Chairman, Secretary and Treasurer.
Sec. 2 The duties of Chairman
and Vice-Chairman will be:
a. To preside at the meetings of the
Club and the Executive Committee and to
supervise the activities of the Club.
b. To appoint committees and be
ex-officio members of all such
committees.
c. To represent the organization at
all times and serves as the
coordinators between the Club and County
Executive Committee.
Sec. 3 The duties of the Secretary will be:
a. To send out meeting notices.
b. To maintain the membership roll and
issue membership cards.
c. To record and maintain the minutes of
all Club meetings and activities.
d. To maintain all Club records.
Sec. 4 The duties of the Treasurer will be:
a. To receive and be custodian of all
the funds of the club.
b. To pay all bills and keep all
financial records pertaining to the
Club’s activities.
c. To account for and report on the
financial status of the Club as required
ARTICLE V – Executive Committee
Executive Committee will consist of 8 or more
members in good standing.
ARTICLE VI - Amendments
These By-Laws may be amended by a 2/3 vote of
any regular meeting of the club called for that
purpose.
ARTICLE VII – Meetings of Members
The frequency of meeting of members will be
established by the Executive Committee but will
be no less than an annual meeting conducted on a
date established by the Executive Committee.
ARTCLE VIII – Nominations and Elections
Sec. 1 A Nominating Committee of three
members will be appointed by the Chairman
prior to the Annual Meeting, the date of
which is to be set by the Executive
Committee and made know to members.
Sec. 2 Only members in good standing will be
eligible to hold office.
Sec. 3 Executive Committee will be elected
at the Annual Meeting in even numbered years
for a term of two years and will take office
just prior to the end of the Annual Meeting.
Sec. 4 Election will be ballot except when
there is but one candidate for each
position, in which event the election will
be by voice vote. A plurality of votes will
elect.
ARTICLE IX – Dues
Sec. 1 Annual dues will be established by a
majority vote of the members attending the
Annual Meeting and will be payable upon
application for membership, and due
thereafter at the Annual Meeting.
